Our Story
Natalie’s relationship with food is inseparable from music. Growing up in New Orleans, Louisiana, every major family gathering revolved around two things: a live jazz band and a ridiculous amount of food. Her aunt, a professional caterer, ran the kitchen like a conductor ran an orchestra — with precision, passion, and the expectation that everyone would feel something when they ate. Natalie absorbed that philosophy completely. But it was during a difficult period in her early thirties — navigating a career change and a cross-country move to Chicago — that cooking became her anchor. On her hardest days, she’d come home and cook something elaborate just for herself, plating it beautifully and eating it at a properly set table. Cooking, she discovered, was the fastest route back to joy. Dish Up Joy was created to share that feeling with the world.
